Williamson & Williams - Seattle Law Firm

RAILROAD WORKERS INJURED ON THE JOB
Our firm has begun to represent men and women who work for railroads and are injured on the job because of inadequate equipment, negligence, insufficient training and cumulative trauma from a career of heavy lifting or repetitive activities which produce problems like carpal tunnel syndrome or a bad back. Like maritime workers, railroad workers are not entitled to workers compensation. Instead, they can bring claims against the employer for damages under the Federal Employees Liability Act (FELA) and other legislation intended to protect such workers.

Claims for injured workers can be brought in both state and Federal Court. We currently have claims pending in Washington and Montana. Our clients have claims which include injuries which prevent them from returning to work for the railroad and, in some cases, they are unable to work at any other trade or occupation.

As with other personal injury claims, our firm represents injured railroad workers on a contingent fee basis. We hire experts on liability, vocational placement, economic analysis, ergonomic study and in other fields as needed to present our clients’ claims.
